Actually, no. No, your failure to find a sub does not mean that I will "have to do it". You have known for months that you would not be here this Sunday, because you told me well before Christmas. If you had asked me, I probably would have said yes, but tell me I "have" to, and I turn into a screaming five year old. NO, I DON'T.
I just got a call telling me that I get to lead the primary kids in a special musical number (or 4, to be more accurate) for the ward activity night which is centered on Family History. I get to teach, then lead 4 "family" songs. Ey de mi. And whose idea is it to have a Family History night as the quarterly family activity for the ward? My 9, 6, 3, 33 year-old and 15 month-old aren't interested. I'm going because I "get" to lead the children. Is there an unwritten rule that adding music by children makes every ward activity, regardless of how lame it is, a wonderful experience? I repeat, ey de mi.
ReplyDeleteOh, and it's on March 20th. Oh, and the song for this month that I get to teach everyone is Follow the Prophet. In case you don't know, it has 9 verses written in the song book, plus 4 other verses that have been printed in the Friend since. Love the song, but I am not teaching 13 verses to this song. And I only have my Sundays to teach this to my kids, then on to the next song for the next month. I dunna have time to do this!
ReplyDeleteAnd moreover...okay, I just really wanted to post another comment on my already comment inundated with comments posts. Do you think I could use the word comment appropriately one more time in a sentence? Seriously.
